TRAMUTOLA celebrates  25 years with a new brand and a new website! For 25 years TRAMUTOLA has been helping a variety of clients achieve success.

It all started with a phone call. In 1984 the superintendent of schools in Davis, California, frustrated by inadequate facilities and the unwillingness of his community to support raising taxes to renovate aging schools, called Larry Tramutola and asked for assistance “organizing” his community. Recognizing that passing a tax measure requiring two thirds voter approval was almost impossible using traditional methods, Tramutola taught school and parent leaders how to “organize” their community. Training volunteers to contact voters one-on-one, Tramutola’s efforts resulted in a remarkable and surprising victory.

Soon Tramutola was getting calls from around the state asking him to share his secrets (Tramutola said there was no secret, just hard work). In two years Tramutola helped pass 29 bond measures without a loss, all requiring 2/3rds support. Today we have passed almost 300 tax measures!

By 1988, the simple desire to help school districts had evolved into a business and Tramutola founded TRAMUTOLA LLC. Word quickly spread from beyond the school community to leaders of hospitals, libraries, cities, candidates, public agencies and businesses that they too could be successful if they followed the “Tramutola method”— and they were.

Since our modest beginnings, our business has grown and evolved with the market place, yet our work ethic and mission remain the same. We help our clients earn the public trust.

As we near the quarter century mark, we have taken the initiative to refresh our brand to better portray the variety of work we do and the team environment we thrive on. Over the years our work on tax elections has spurred various other avenues of business – government relations, public information and training and leadership development. We have also started an organizing and leadership academy (TOLA) to train young people in community organizing.

TRAMUTOLA excels, in part, because we do not view their work as a business, but rather as a cause. Our variety of efforts can be summed up as the following three goals: Improve communities. Help and inspire others to succeed. Work ethically and honestly.
